This is a fantastic opportunity to embark on a career in supply chain and logistics with a leading global company in the life sciences sector.  The Apprentice will provide administrative support to the Logistics team, who are responsible for delivering product to Accord’s customers on time, using cost effective transportation.

Qualifications requirement Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above, including English and Mathematics
Salary £15,000 per annum

JOB DESCRIPTION

Cogent Skills is working with Accord Healthcare Ltd to recruit an Apprentice Logistics Administrator for its busy manufacturing site in Fawdon, Tyne & Wear. The successful candidate will be employed by Cogent Skills Services but will undertake all on-job learning with Accord Healthcare.

As part of a busy Logistics team, the Apprentice will support the Logistics Team Leader with all aspects of inbound and outbound healthcare shipments, helping to maintain the company’s compliance with all regulatory and legislative HSE requirements and company policies.

The responsibilities of the Apprentice Logistics Administrator will include:

  • ensuring transporters provide invoices in a timely manner to enable reconciliation of accounts. Approval and processing of invoices. Purchase Order management in SAP
  • dispatch documentation of EU & export shipments – distribution to internal customers and filing of paperwork
  • management of the EU Logistics & Invoices e-mail inboxes
  • issue resolution
  • maintaining contact details for all key stakeholders (country cards)
  • managing intra EU shipments where required
  • managing ad hoc and courier shipments where required
  • filing

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications Required:

Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications) at grade 4 or above (or with anticipated grades of 4 or above) including Maths and English.

Skills Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to communicate confidently, clearly and concisely
  • Able to build and maintain positive working relationships with people across the business
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills – uses time efficiently and effectively, ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including medium Excel capability, and other IT systems

TRAINING TO BE DELIVERED

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard to be delivered on site by TDR Training.

FUTURE PROSPECTS

This role is part of our talent planning for the future and, for the right person, we are looking to continue to develop the Apprentice upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship.

Our business is growing, is fast paced and evolving so there may be the opportunity to gain permanent employment in the team as a Logistics Administrator, subject to performance, successful completion of the Apprenticeship, and a role being available.
