The Climate Resilience Leadership for Senior Executives course is the first training programme mapped to the new Climate Resilience Leadership for Senior Executives Training Standard, developed by the Process Safety Management Competence Programme Board (PSMCPB).

Designed to equip senior leaders with the knowledge and understanding required to build organisational resilience and respond effectively to the risks presented by climate change, the programme explores how climate-related risks can affect people, the environment, assets, operations and long-term business performance.

This course is designed for senior decision-makers responsible for, or able to influence, organisational resilience and climate-related risk, including:

  • Board members and senior executives
  • Directors and senior leaders responsible for operational, environmental or process safety risk
  • Site managers and senior managers influencing organisational strategy, culture and investment decisions

It is particularly relevant for organisations operating in high-hazard and highly regulated sectors, including chemicals, manufacturing, energy and utilities, as well as COMAH and Environment Agency permitted sites.

The course is delivered by experienced climate adaptation and resilience specialists with knowledge of industrial operations, process safety and climate-related risk.

Delivery includes:

  • A one-day facilitated course for senior leadership audiences
  • Practical examples and case studies exploring climate-related and NaTech risks
  • Discussion of how climate change can affect business operations, assets, supply chains and strategic decision-making
  • Guidance on embedding climate adaptation within existing organisational management systems
  • A follow-up guided discussion with the course trainer to demonstrate understanding and support application within the organisation

Training can be delivered face-to-face or virtually via Microsoft Teams.
