The newly launched Hydrogen Skills Framework is a proof-of-concept tool designed to help employers develop the skills needed to build their future workforces. This open-source framework will enable the creation of industry-recognised qualifications and quality-assured training programmes, ensuring alignment with the hydrogen sector's evolving needs.
Developed by key industry stakeholders, including regulators, the framework serves as a recognised benchmark for skills development. By highlighting clear career pathways and fostering confidence in training standards, the framework promotes consistency and long-term industry growth.
The framework marks a significant step in addressing skills challenges within the sector. The Hydrogen Skills Alliance (HSA) will collaborate with employers and skills bodies to ensure the framework covers occupations across the hydrogen value chain, from production to distribution and usage, enhancing training visibility and reliability.
Training providers and Awarding Organisations can gain official recognition that their courses or qualifications align with this framework by submitting materials for review by an appropriate expert. This process is facilitated by Cogent Skills.
