Science Industry Partnership launches 2022 Apprenticeship Survey

The Science Industry Partnership (SIP) – an employer led membership alliance dedicated to supporting skills in the science industry, has today launched its most comprehensive survey on apprenticeships in the sector.

Launched during National Apprenticeship Week (7th – 13th Feb) and developed in collaboration with leading science industry employers, the survey aims to provide critical insight into the UK’s future talent pipeline and will help influence future skills policy positions made by Government. The latest survey will provide an evidence base on how the apprenticeship system is working and what changes science industry employers would like to see. The topics covered include, Apprenticeship Levy recovery, provision of Apprenticeship Standards and employer sentiment around upcoming reforms for apprenticeships in England.

Rachel Roby, Strategic Apprenticeship Lead at Cogent Skills commented:

“With a number of important changes likely to impact employers, from degree apprenticeships and funding rules to route reviews and qualifications, it’s more important than ever that the employer voice is heard and understand. This survey forms a vital part of our research and informs our conversations with policymakers on the skills needs of employers in our sector.”

The survey is open for completion now and respondents will receive a copy of the full report, due for publication later this year. Respondents should have knowledge of apprenticeship recruitment within their organisation.
