Who is it for?
Managers, Supervisors, Safety Personnel, Senior Contract Employees
2 Day Course
All employees working in high hazard industries need to understand the safety, health and environmental hazards associated with their working environment.
The Process Safety Management Foundations course provides the fundamental knowledge and understanding of the principles of process safety management across the entire organisation.
HSE is keen to support the development and delivery of training and coaching for board members and managers in process safety. It is essential that the momentum on improving competence in process safety management is maintained throughout the sector in order to ensure those involved in managing major hazard risks gain and maintain the knowledge and skills essential to avoid a major accident. We have come a long way since the disastrous events of Buncefield but it would be wrong to think that the task of improving competence has been completed.

It is aimed at managers, supervisors, designers, safety personnel, and senior contract employees. It is also suitable for managers, and supervisors and young engineers working in COMAH establishments or other major hazard environments and anyone wishing to develop a more detailed understanding of process safety management.
Course Duration – 2 Days
How is it delivered?
The training can be delivered on-site to groups of up to 12 delegates. For individuals or small groups, we run open courses across the UK. All delegates are registered for an on-line self-assessment designed to reinforce their knowledge and understanding of process safety management and will be given exclusive access to a suite of video case studies designed to reinforce the learning for up to three years.
The course is delivered by highly experienced Cogent Assured Training Providers using a combination of presentations, case studies and group discussions to illustrate process safety management requirements and demonstrate ways to develop and monitor an effective process safety programme.
