Cogent Skills is now a disability confident employer after becoming a member of the Disability Confident scheme
According to national statistics (2021) 21% of working age adults have a disability. Historically there has been a significant gap between the numbers of disabled people employed compared with non-disabled people. In an effort to close this gap and ensure disabled people have the support they need the government designed the Disability Confident scheme. Disability Confident is designed to encourage employers to recruit and retain disabled people and those with health conditions.
Disability Confident is creating a movement of change, encouraging employers to think differently about disability and take action to improve how they recruit, retain and develop disabled people.
