Established in 2014, the Science Industry Partnership is a powerful employer-led membership alliance committed to the growth and development of a highly-skilled, world-class workforce for the science industries.
SIP brings together some of the leading names in the life sciences, chemicals, polymers and plastics, and other science-based industries.
Through their membership, these employers can access our specialist skills team offering advice and guidance on areas including apprenticeships, careers outreach and national skills policy.
Over the last 10 years, Science Industry Partnership members have worked together to achieve a great deal, including:
- bringing the sector together to create ‘one voice on skills’ and showcase talent;
- training more than 700 careers ambassadors to promote science careers;
- champion apprenticeships for the sector, including the production of vital labour market intelligence;
- publishing two equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) reports and an industry checklist for employers to measure their progress;
- developing the Bioinformatics L7 Apprenticeship;
- and partnering with STEM employers to design the SIP Ambassador digital badge for young professionals in the industry.
Also, in its tenth anniversary year the SIP is proud to support The Passage homelessness charity, which seeks to prevent and end homelessness. To find out more about The Passage, visit: https://passage.org.uk.
