Science Manufacturing Technicians will also undertake the level 3 Process Technology or level 3 applied science knowledge qualification using supported learning materials. Both qualifications include a combination of mandatory and optional units
Level 3 Process Technology units include Maths, Science, Unit Operations, Process Plant and Equipment, Services and Communications and more.
Level 3 Applied Science units include Scientific Practical Techniques, Using Science in the Workplace, Working in the Science Industry and more
Apprentices without a level 2 English and Mathematics qualification will need to achieve this level prior to completion of their apprenticeship.
Entry requirements for this role are determined by the employer, however typically 5 GCSEs including Maths, English and Science are desirable. The apprentice must also be capable of achieving Level 2 Maths and English prior to taking end-point assessment.

DURATION: It will typically take 24 months to complete this apprenticeship, although the exact duration will be dependent on the previous experience of the individual. Cogent Skills Training will liaise with the employer to establish the duration of the programme. However, a minimum of 12 months of training must be undertaken to ensure attainment of sufficient skills, knowledge and experience.
