In his new role as Managing Director, James will be responsible for growing Cogent Skills’ apprenticeships business unit regionally and nationally.
James has a proven track record in the apprenticeship and training sector, with a focus on science, process and engineering provision in high-hazard industries.
Prior to joining Cogent, James spent seven years at technical training provider CATCH as Chief Operating Officer, where he was responsible for creating the training and apprenticeship areas of the businesses.
His approach focuses on working collaboratively with employers to deliver a quality curriculum, with a significant emphasis on the learner experience.
James is also engaged in the green agenda, focusing on the skills and competencies required for our industry to reach net zero, primarily through hydrogen and carbon capture and storage. Cogent Skills’ Group Chief Executive Officer, Justine Fosh, said:
This is an exciting time for apprenticeships in our sector and James brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise from his years in the industry. Our Apprenticeship Training division has huge potential for growth and we look forward to seeing this core part of our business go from strength to strength.
Cogent Skills’ Managing Director of Apprenticeships Training, James McIntosh, said:
