National Occupational Standards (NOS) for hydrogen
Cogent Skills is proud to facilitate the development of the UK’s first National Occupational Standards (NOS) for hydrogen production, storage, and transportation.
The new technical standards are being developed in collaboration with employers in the industry, which is a critical step towards establishing a highly skilled and competent workforce, and underpins the nation's ambition to become a global leader in green technologies.

Future skills for the downstream sector
Cogent Skills collaborated with the UK Petroleum Industry Association (UKPIA) to provide insight into the future skills needed for the downstream sector. The analysis comes at a significant time for the UK downstream sector, as the industry takes steps towards a low carbon future. Continued progress is only possible with access to the right skills needed for transformation.Â

PSMCPB Approved
Courses that have the PSMCPB symbol have been signed off by the Process Safety Management Competence Programme Board who set the industry training standards for PSM.
Gold Standard
Gold Standard courses displaying the ‘C’ symbol carry the distinction that the content of the course has been aligned to a Gold Standard job role. The Gold Standard is a national framework which sets the required level of competence, including skills, knowledge and behaviours for over 50 job roles in the science industries.
