Industrial Placement Intern (BSO Analyst) – Jazz Pharmaceuticals PLC

Location: Cambridgeshire
Jazz Pharmaceuticals is looking for an industrial intern who will support the various projects, tasks, and work of the Discovery and Medicinal Chemistry department.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals is looking for an industrial intern who will work closely with the Research Project Management Team, Research & Non-Clinical Development (RNCD), and Business Strategy & Operations team on business and operational projects and initiatives. Under the direction of Research Project Management colleagues, it provides day to day support to R&D operation processes.

Qualification Requirements

Undergraduate in a Science based degree such as Biology, Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences with at least 2 years of study

Salary – £24,000 per annum

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.15pm with 45 minute lunch break.

Job Description

The BSO Analyst will:

  • Under the direction of the project lead, gathers updates on the Biological Sample Lifecycle Management (BSLM) project from Functional Matrix Teams (FMTs), to monitor and report progress to the project plan, with particular awareness and focus on critical path activities, alerting the project lead promptly to facilitate resolution.
  • Supports reviewing and updating processes for assigning nonclinical study code (Jazz unique identifier), allowing the implementation of their use in Planisware (the official corporate planning system) to support downstream Portfolio Reporting and Divisional resource and Finance forecasting. Related Guidance and SOPs updating will be needed. Collaborates with the Project Manager Leads (PMLs) to accurately updating project plans with nonclinical study numbers for all planned studies up to Decision Point 1 (DP1); this might require interaction with Functional Matrix Teams (FMTs) to understand their activities.
  • Interact with the Business Support Organisation (BSO) to maintain compliance in internal presentations and project documentation, following the R&D conventions.
