About SIAS
SIAS provides a tailored End-Point Assessment (EPA) service for Science & Technical apprenticeships.
Our competency-based assessments enable apprentices to put their experience into practice, allowing them to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and behaviours to our qualified assessors who hold many years of industry knowledge in the apprenticeship standards they assess.
SIAS is comprised of a team with a vast amount of experience within the Science, Engineering and Educational sectors. This experience assures a high level of quality and professionalism across all aspects of our service, from preparing and creating assessment material to assessing apprentices.
SIAS’ assessment methods abide by the industry trailblazer group assessment plans. By working closely with these groups, we have developed assessment material which ensures apprentices are accurately assessed across all knowledge, skills and behaviours required by their apprenticeship standard.
We maintain rigorous and robust processes to ensure consistency is applied across all the apprenticeship standards we assess.

Steve Smith
Steve joined SIAS in January 2022 as Managing Director and is responsible for setting and implementing the strategic direction. Steve is passionate about vocational education and skills, and is always focused on creating a dynamic and fresh approach to assessment, whilst maintaining quality and fantastic customer service.
Dan Russell
Dan joined SIAS in September 2021 and Head of Quality and Business Improvement and is responsible for maintaining quality standards within SIAS and implementing changes and improvements to drive performance and improve the experience offered to our customers. Dan has worked within the end point assessment sector since 2017 and within the further education sector since 2011.
