Quality Control Apprentice – Berwin Polymer Processing Group

Main Description

To ensure the quality of our rubber is fit for purpose and meets all specifications / customer requirements.

In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. You will work alongside a team of other testers in a busy factory work environment.

Ultimately, you are the final check before material is released to our customers.

Qualification requirements

Minimum 5 GCSE’s including Maths and Science at grade C / 4 or above

JOB DESCRIPTION

         Conduct tests on a number of different pieces of laboratory equipment in real time e.g Rheometer (Viscosity and cure characteristics), Specific Gravity, hardness etc.

         Weigh chemicals and convert intermediate products to finished compound for testing.

         Report failures and problems to management, pause the manufacturing line if you identify a problem.

         Create detailed laboratory reports.

         Record keeping.

         Understand statistical analysis to spot trends.

         Help troubleshoot issues.

         Release material for dispatch.

         Work towards a recognised Qualification

Training Provider: Cogent Skills

Delivery model: Blended- the course is taught mainly online and there is a one 3-day residential.
