Main Description
This role is to support the QC Team by; ensuring all testing cultures are pure, manufacturing agar, and calibrating / maintaining QC equipment such as pipettes and the autoclave. The role also includes the responsibility to carry out site-wide environmental monitoring and finished product testing of Sensititre manufactured products.
Required Qualifications | Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications) at grade 4/C or above (or with anticipated grades of 4/C or above) including Maths and English We can’t consider you for this position if you have significant prior experience of working within a Laboratory or if you are under the age of 18 upon starting due to working with live bacterial cultures |

JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
To support the Quality Control testing processes by undertaking general laboratory maintenance to ensure the Department remains functional. This is a flexible position covering all general laboratory maintenance skill areas (bacteria recovery, stock maintenance, media manufacture) and some testing of raw materials.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing bacterial cultures
- Testing of product accessories (Dosing Heads)
- Manufacture of agar media
- Monitoring and replenishing lab stock
- Conducting environmental monitoring of the production areas
- Keeping the laboratory in a tidy and clean condition
- Equipment calibration
- Waste disposal
- Any other duties deemed to be within the capability of the post holder

- Competent in the use of the MS Office Suite

TRAINING TO BE DELIVERED
Apprenticeship Standard: Laboratory Technician Level 3
Training Provider: Cogent Skills Ltd
Qualification: Apprenticeship Certificate in Laboratory Technician Level 3
Delivery Model: Training will be completed online, but testing will be done in person, on site.
FUTURE PROSPECTS
On completion of this apprenticeship, you could be eligible to apply to the role of QC Technician which holds a higher level of responsibility to ensure all manufactured Sensititre Products are fit for customer use. Estimated QC Technician Band 4 base salaries range from £28’000-30’0000, with additional shift premium and bonus scheme.
